Flo currently works as a Research Assistant to Dr. Bastian Thomsen in the Strategy, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Discipline at the University of Sydney Business School and is an active member of the Sydney Environment Institute. His research spans sustainability, biodiversity conservation, organizational behavior, and the human dimensions of conservation, particularly how psychological, cultural, and strategic factors influence coexistence, business incentives, and long-term ecological outcomes. Working under the broader umbrella of multispecies welfare research and the nature-positive movement, Flo is especially interested in how companies and communities can rethink their relationships with nature, not just as a resource, but as a partner in wellbeing and welfare. Alongside academic inquiry, he’s also intrigued by the physical side of change: how people build strength, resilience, and structure as a foothold toward broader mental health. This includes exploring practices like forest bathing, grounding, meditation, and therapy, as well as the everyday habits that support sustainable, embodied living. Flo is currently developing this work further and welcomes collaboration with others passionate about reconnecting people, policy, and the planet.
